Description:
Route 66 is a cigarette brand inspired by the iconic image of a US highway, with a strong visual aesthetic focused on the symbolism of freedom, travel, and the "American Way of Life.".
-
The first packet – Route 66 24 Original – has a minimalist, stricter design with a cold background image (belt details), logo and the number "24".
-
The second package – Route 66 Easy Going Way – depicts a moody scene in a car with a warm color tone and a road trip atmosphere.
Both packages contain warnings in Polish about the harms of smoking ("Palenie zabija", "Palacze tytoniu umierają młodziej") and Polish excise stickers. This allows us to conclude that the product was intended for the domestic Polish market.
Value assessment:
-
Collectible value: Medium. Although Route 66 was a commercial rather than historically significant sign, its design was quite unique for its time period and is increasingly rare today.
-
Condition assessment: Excellent condition, original cellophane, undamaged.
-
Historical data and popularity: The brand is more focused on image than historical significance, but it was one of the first on the Polish market to actively imitate the Western lifestyle. Route 66 cigarettes were not widely exported, so they are interesting to collectors for their regional survival.
