Description:
The purple "Klaipėda" is one of the late Soviet-era series variants, produced just before the transition to the new, blue series design (1989–1991).
The main design element is purple waves background with white horizontal lines symbolizing the sea.
In the upper part - red horizontal line, intersecting the middle with Klaipėda city coat of arms in the center.
Note „"KLAIPEDA"“ white letters with a purple outline – classic style, embossed.
The side states: „"Lithuanian SSR, Klaipėda Tobacco Factory"“, and on the opposite side is a typical period warning „"Smoking is dangerous to your health"“.
This edition features a subtle yet striking design – the color scheme is aimed at a more feminine audience, even though Klaipėda was essentially a universal stamp. The purple color was used for a very short time, so this variant was produced in limited quantities and is difficult to find even among experienced collectors.
