Description:
„"57 Filter" is one of the classic Balkan FDS (Fabrika Duvana Sarajevo) products belonging to the mid-range line. The name "57" is symbolically associated with the initial production series (probably released in 1957 as the original unfiltered version).
The design is characterized by in a clean modernist style, typical of Balkan cigarette packaging after the 2000s:
– White background with in a green square pattern,
– Red horizontal bar with the word FILTER,
– Big red number 57, next to which is depicted green horse – a symbol of dynamism and freedom, often used in the FDS product line.
Above – an inscription KING SIZE, and the top of the package shows Bosnian excise stamp, confirming the origin and period of production.
The inscription on the side reads: What are the health risks? (in Serbian/Bosnian – "smoking is harmful to health").
Value assessment:
– Collectible value: Average. Although "57" is not as well known as "Drina" or "Filter 160", it is rarer than regional standards, especially the menthol or King Size variants.
– Condition assessment: Excellent - the cellophane is original, the corners are sharp, the colors have not faded.
– Historical significance: This example of a transitional period, when Balkan manufacturers combined classic design with new technical filters and modern printing aesthetics.
