Description:
A very unique design Yugoslav package Reporter, created At the Zagreb Tobacco Factory, is one of the most interesting collectibles from the former Yugoslavia. It immediately stands out conceptual graphic solution – depicted on the front side black and white camera, and the name is underlined in red at the top REPORTER, like an imitation of a journalistic signature.
This is not just any cigarette pack – this is a metaphor for journalists, photographers and creators, who were considered representatives of the modern, educated class at the time. The second half is dominated by a capital letter „"R"“, followed by:
“"Extra Cigarette, Filter King Size, Tvornica duhana Zagreb"”
The typography is modernist, clear, and the combination of white, black, and red provides a visual contrast and a strong identity that sets this package apart from traditional Balkan design solutions.
Value assessment:
– Collectible value: High. "Reporter" is one of the rarer TDZ products, produced in limited quantities. Due to its original design and theme ("photojournalist"), this pack is often included in thematic design collections (communication, media, photography).
– Condition assessment: Excellent - original cellophane, clean surface, gold band intact, print unfaded.
– Historical data and popularity: Created in the late 1980s at the TDZ factory, which was one of the most modern tobacco manufacturers in the region, Reporter was positioned as a modern product for the educated urbanite, but due to its higher price, it was produced in small quantities.
