Description
Jewel 72 – one of the classic East Germany (GDR) samples of a series of cigarettes produced at the VEB Tabakkombinat Dresden factory, which was the main supplier of tobacco products in the Eastern Bloc.
This model stands out for its with a subtle yet solid design, combining gold, cream and red colors – a typical socialist period visual balance between simplicity and reliability.
In the center of the package tobacco leaf symbol shows a connection with the traditional tobacco quality marking system. Note „"EVP 2.50 M"“ (Einzelhandelsverkaufspreis) - this state retail price, typical of all GDR products, confirming that the product was intended for the domestic market.
Code marked on the sides HSL 1872430 indicates the factory batch number specific to Dresden production.
Remaining at the top gold foil motif with cellophane covering – this indicates that the package has never been opened.
Value assessment
Collectible value: Medium–high.
Although Jewel 72 was widely produced during the GDR era, copies in excellent condition with original cellophane and clear price are becoming increasingly popular among collectors.
This is one of the most representative DDR mass market cigarette samples, evaluated for authenticity and historical context.
Condition assessment: Very good - cellophane is intact, colors are bright, price and lot number are legible.
