Description
Club Filter – one of the most prestigious and best recognized GDR tobacco products, produced at the state-owned VEB Tabakkombinat Dresden factory.
This brand was considered higher-end product, usually for export or sale in currency stores ("Intershop").
The packaging design is characterized by elegant blue and cream color combination, and in the central part heraldic symbol of lions and shield gives the impression of Western luxury.
It is indicated on the bottom of the package „"EVP 4.00 M"“ – it was state retail price in marks, indicating that this model was one of the more expensive cigarette options available at the time.
Visible above green excise sticker, typical of the late GDR period. Note „"20 Cigarettes - Filter"“ indicates that it is a filtered version, distinguished by its smoother smoke and better tobacco quality.
Value assessment
Collectible value: High.
Club Filter is one of most searched GDR cigarette packs, because it was a premium product in both the domestic and export markets.
Collectors appreciate both the design and the symbolism - it is an example of how East Germany sought to match Western aesthetic culture.
Thanks to the remaining cellophane, excellent printing and clear emblem, the package has great historical and visual value.
Condition assessment: Very good - packaging is intact, cellophane is in place, excise sticker is intact, colors are bright.
