Description:
This pack of cigarettes "Rica" (Russian: Рица, Georgian: რინა) is a typical Soviet-era publication, produced in Georgia, probably in the Abkhazian region. The name "Rica" comes from the famous mountain lake Ritsa (Рица), located in Abkhazia. The pack has a minimalist, elegant design: white dominates, a red stripe runs along the top, and a stylized sunbeam symbol in the center. The name is written on both sides of the pack in Cyrillic and Georgian alphabets.
Value assessment:
-
Collectible value: High. Soviet-era regional packages from Georgia or Abkhazia are rare, and "Rica" with its unique design and bilingual inscriptions is attractive to collectors.
-
Condition assessment: Unopened, with original film, very good condition, foil intact.
-
Historical data and popularity: These packages were produced in small batches for local consumption, and therefore often did not survive outside the region. The design was focused on the symbolism of local nature - in this case, Lake Rica, which was a tourist symbol during the Soviet period.
