Description:
„"Румба" - a high-end Soviet cigarette, produced by the tobacco factory "Leek" in the Estonian SSR (marked with a logo on the pack). The design is typical of the Baltic production style: clean, with a minimalist combination of red and cream colors and subtle gold tones. The name "Rumba" is associated with dance - such names were popular in order to give the cigarettes an impression of "modernity" or "foreignness". The pack states that these are "highest quality cigarettes with a filter".
Value assessment:
Collectible value: Average. "Rumba" is considered one of the more famous Baltic production series, but the market features several versions - some with Estonian, others with Russian or bilingual inscriptions. An unopened package, retaining bright colors and original cellophane, remains in demand among collectors of the USSR period.
Condition assessment: Unopened, with original cellophane; visible signs of storage and small stains on the paper, but overall condition is good.
Historical data: „The Leek factory in Tallinn was one of the most advanced in the Baltic States, producing and exporting cigarettes to other republics of the USSR. Rumba was considered a product of the prestige segment, similar to Tallinn, Fama and Diplomat.
