Description:
„"Средец" ("Sredec") is a classic Bulgarian cigarette pack, distinguished by its clear and bright color contrast. The design is based on a three-color scheme: a red top band, a white central area and a red bottom accent. In the center is a stylized city coat of arms with a lion symbol, which conveys national identity and the manufacturer's pride. The name is written in a large, modernist font "СРЕДЕЦ", and at the bottom - "Филтър" (Filtr) in subtle cursive. Typical of the Eastern European design of the time - simple, but with a unique character, reflecting the stylistics of the Bulgarian tobacco industry.
Value assessment:
– Collectible value: Medium/Higher – Bulgarian brands, especially Sredec, are quite rare on the Western collectors market. The 100mm format editions from this period are notable for the smaller number of surviving copies.
– Condition assessment: Excellent - package unopened, in original film, minimal surface darkening due to age.
– Historical data and popularity: „The name "Sredec" comes from the ancient name of the city of Sofia, and the cigarette production was carried out at the Bulgarian tobacco factories owned by "Bulgartabac". This model was focused on the domestic market and was considered a mid-to-high-end product.
