Description:
„Peony Filter“ – a classic Yugoslav cigarette brand, produced Tobacco Factory Prilep in a tobacco factory that operated in what was then Yugoslavia (now North Macedonia). The word Peony means peony, the national symbol of Serbia, so the packaging is dominated by flower emblem – a stylized peony framed by a decorative pattern.

The package consists of two contrasting colors – bright red on top and light beige on the bottom. The front says „King Size“ and Filter, and in the upper part is visible blue excise sticker with a denomination of Yugoslav dinars (P2.00). The inscription on the side in Cyrillic "Дувански комбинат Прилеп" confirms the authentic origin.

This package reflects golden age of the Yugoslav tobacco industry, when local factories created both brands for the domestic market and export variants with Western design styles.

Value assessment:

  • Collectible value: High. Božur Filter is one of the rarer Yugoslav brands, especially the King Size format, most of which was consumed locally.

  • Condition assessment: Very good - original cellophane, intact excise sticker, clearly visible colors and markings.

  • Historical data: Production ceased around 1990, when the Yugoslav markets were restructured and the Prilep factory switched to regional brands such as Partner and Makedonija.
