Description:
„Brookfield American Blend – mid-range cigarettes made In Spain according to the American tobacco blend (American Blend) formula. The brand was created by a local factory Tabacalera SA. as an alternative to imported brands (Camel, Marlboro, Chesterfield).
Dominates the pack red, white and blue colors, with five stars and the "Globe" logo - a globe. This design is clearly oriented towards an American-style image.
Health warnings in Spanish are printed on both sides:
-
“"Fumar perjudica gravemente su salud y la de los que están a su alredore"” („Smoking seriously harms your health and the health of those around you“)
-
“"Fumar obstruye las arterias y provoca cardiopatías y cerebrovascular accidents"” ("Smoking clogs arteries and causes heart and cerebrovascular disease")
Excise stamp with inscription „"Spain"“ allows you to date the package to the period before 2005, when new EU warning and tax regulations came into effect.
Value assessment:
Collectible value: Average.
Although Brookfield is not an internationally known brand, Spanish editions with original stamp are valued due to their limited production volume. Such packages are interesting for collectors who collect European local tobacco brands before the Altadis merger (2000).
Condition assessment: Excellent - complete, cellophane-wrapped, corners intact, colors rich, stamp clearly legible.
Historical data:
„Brookfield was one of Tobacco shop attempts to export their brands to Portugal, Andorra and some African markets. After 2004, this brand disappeared from production when Altadis began to focus on international brands.
