Description:
This CJ Gold cigarette pack from CJ Cigarette Company, one of the smaller but nationally known Argentine tobacco companies.
The design is elegant – golden background with a blue logo in the center surrounded by a red stripe at the top. Logo CJ embedded in a geometric circle symbolizing the world network – this motif is also found in other versions of CJ.
The back has interesting text in Spanish that highlights the product as „"fino tabaccos seleccionos"“ – a carefully selected blend of tobaccos from the best farms in Argentina.
Above – the original excise sticker „"Código Nº 1 - CIGARRILLOS"“, typical of local production, with a note IMP. INT. LEY 24.674.
On the left side - certificate “For adults only”, on the right - a warning about the harm of smoking.
Value assessment:
– Collectible value: High - The CJ Gold version is less common than the regular white/red CJ packaging. Collectors value it for its gold-colored design and excellent condition.
– Condition assessment: Very good - cellophane is intact, excise sticker is complete, surface is free of cracks, slight storage marks are visible only on the back.
– Historical significance: It is one of the late local brands that survived before the industry consolidation. CJ Gold is an attempt to create a local "premium" image in place of imported goods (Marlboro, Parliament).
