Description:
This is a unique and rare Korean cigarette pack called "Mt. Halla" (or "Hallasan"), named after the highest mountain in South Korea, located on Jeju Island. The pack is decorated in elegant gold and burgundy colors, with diagonal lines and a logo that visually resembles a mountain. The front shows the Ultra Low Tar & Nicotine label. The back contains warnings about the harms of smoking in Korean. Visually, there is some aging (dots and damage to the bottom of the pack), but the pack is intact and sealed.
Value assessment:
-
Collectible value: High - This pack is rare even among Asian collectors, especially since it is from the South Korean market, which was not widely exported. It is also very little known outside of Korea.
-
Condition assessment: Undamaged and unopened, but clearly affected by storage conditions - visible brown spot markings (possible mold or moisture stains). This affects the collectible value, but the package still remains extremely rare.
-
Historical data and popularity: Mt. Halla cigarettes were produced in Korea and were well-known in the local market, but very few surviving units have reached the international collector's market. To Western collectors, such packs are exotic and unusual, and may therefore be valued at a higher price.
