Description:
„The Orient cigarette pack features an exotic oriental motif – a mosque dome and palm tree silhouettes are depicted on a minimalist design background. The main name “ORIENT„ is highlighted in large decorative letters. The upper part is decorated with a red ribbon, and the manufacturer’s mark – “Lépes„ – is clearly visible on the side. The color scheme of the pack is brown-cream, which gives a nostalgic and warm feeling. This is one of the examples of an oriental image in the communist-era Central European cigarette market.
Value assessment:
-
Collectible value: Medium. Although not limited edition, this pack stands out for its unusual design and provenance, making it prized among collectors interested in Eastern European tobacco history.
-
Condition assessment: Unopened, in excellent condition (cellophane-wrapped, unfaded, no deformations).
-
Historical data and popularity: „Orient was one of several themed lines produced in Hungary, intended to stand out in terms of style and marketing, but wide distribution did not give the brand international recognition. It is now seen as a specimen from a period of declining Central European manufacturers.
