Description:
„Respect Red“ is a stronger version of the tobacco blend from the Kosovo manufacturer „Duhani Gjilan“ („Tobacco Factory Gjilan“). The design of the pack is solid and bright – red dominates with a black horizontal stripe in the center, which reads „RESPECT“ in white font. Above the logo, the factory coat of arms with the initials „AF“ and the inscription „Established in 1871“ are visible, indicating the oldest tradition of tobacco production in the region. At the bottom, there is a warning in two languages: „Pušenje je štetno za zdravlje“ and „Duhani dēmton srednjište zdravlje“, which confirms that the pack was intended for both Serbian- and Albanian-speaking consumers.
The design reflects the Balkan tobacco industry's drive of the early 2000s to create a modern, Western image similar to Marlboro or L&M.
Value assessment:
Collectible Value: High. Respect Red with the UNMIK (Interim Administration of Kosovo) excise sticker is of great historical value, as it was issued during the brief transitional period following the Kosovo conflict, when the country was under United Nations administration. As a result, these packets are now rare and highly prized by collectors, especially in unopened condition.
Condition assessment: Unopened, original cellophane wrap, very good condition. Excise stamp intact, all inscriptions clearly legible.
