Description:
Romanian classics – Snagov Filter – one of the most recognizable and oldest Romanian cigarette brands, named after Snagov Lake near Bucharest, a place famous for its nature and historical legends, including the traces of Vlad the Impaler (Dracula).
The packaging features a minimalist yet symbolic design: white background with with a red triangle at the top (like a sail) and with the image of two ancient sailing ships in the center - this motif symbolizes the lake and the wind, and at the same time conveys a feeling of lightness and freedom.
The inscriptions "Snagov filtru" and "Tigarete Superioare" ("highest quality cigarettes") frame the brand as premium class product during the socialist Romania period. The inscription is clearly visible on the side „Made in Romania“, and below is a quality certificate badge confirming the state production standard.
Value assessment:
– Collectible value: Medium-high. Snagov Filtru is one of the iconic Eastern European brands, reflecting the design and tobacco industry aesthetics of their era. Evaluated for clean design and historical context, especially among collectors interested in products from the socialist bloc.
– Condition assessment: Very good - the package is sealed, the cellophane is intact, the colors remain bright, and minimal signs of age are visible on the surface.
– Historical data and popularity: „"Snagov" was produced both for the Romanian domestic market and for export to other socialist countries. It was considered a modern and reliable mid-range choice, and in the 1970s and 1980s it became one of the most exported Romanian cigarette brands.
