„Supermatch“ – one of the most famous West African cigarette brands, produced Nigerian Tobacco Company Ltd., owned by British American Tobacco (BAT). This particular King Size Filter The package from Nigeria has a classic design, with a bright red background and a white silhouette of a football player in the center – a clear reference to the sporty image with which the brand sought to attract young consumers.
The design features a decorative red and gold motif at the top, adding elegance to the packaging. The left side is marked with the words "20 Filter Cigarettes" and the top is marked with an excise sticker. The cellophane is original, but with age spots and signs of oxidation, especially at the bottom.
„Supermatch was a very popular brand throughout West Africa – particularly in Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Ghana and Liberia – and remained one of BAT’s export products to the region from the 1970s to the early 1990s.
