Description:
„Trend Filter Cigarette“ – a Yugoslav cigarette brand, produced Sarajevo Tobacco Factory (FDS) – one of the oldest and most famous tobacco factories in the Balkan region. This model belonged to the middle class segment, and the name Trend reflects the influence of 1980s and 1990s modernity and Western lifestyle, which the manufacturers sought to convey through both design and name.
The design is minimalist but elegant: a white background with red, green and gold stripes at the bottom, symbolizing quality and style. Above the brand name – FDS coat of arms with lions and three stars, maintaining the traditional heraldry of the factory. The information is visible on the side of the package: "Fabrika Duvana Sarajevo", and on the top - original excise sticker with a tobacco leaf motif.
This package was one of the last before the collapse of Yugoslavia, when the Sarajevo factory was still operating at full capacity and exporting some of its production to Hungary and Czechoslovakia.
Value assessment:
-
Collectible value: Medium–High. Trend is not very common among FDS products, so the preserved example with cellophane has greater collector value.
-
Condition assessment: Very good - original cellophane, some signs of natural aging, all inscriptions are clear.
-
Historical data: FDS operated from 1880 until the early 2000s, with Trend production discontinued after 1992 due to the war and partial destruction of the factory.
