Description:
This TURF a brand cigarette pack from Argentina, the design of which is clearly associated with the theme of horse racing (the word turf (meaning racetrack in English). The front of the package depicts a horse's head surrounded by a laurel wreath - a symbol denoting victories and prestige.
The pack is dominant red color, with black vertical line and silver logo TURF, and below is the inscription FILTER CIGARETTES.
The original is visible on top. excise sticker "Código Nº 3 - CIGARRILLOS"„, intended for the domestic market. The sticker also states “IMP. INT. LEY 24.674” (Argentine Internal Tax Law).
The design is classic and simple, but very recognizable due to the horse emblem. This pack belongs to the old generation of local manufacturers, when TURF was still the most popular regional brand alongside Fénix, Milenium and Silver Star.
Value assessment:
– Collectible value: Aukšta is one of those local brands that had limited distribution and almost completely disappeared after the early 2000s, when large manufacturers pushed out smaller market players.
– Condition assessment: Excellent - the cellophane is completely intact, the corners are neat, the excise sticker is clearly visible.
– Historical significance: Reflecting the national period of the Argentine tobacco industry before the wave of globalization, the TURF brand is interesting in that it combines a "local sporting identity" with the aesthetics of a classic cigarette package.
