The inscription at the bottom of the packet HOUSE OF CARRERA<\/em> \u2013 a reference to one of Britain's oldest tobacco manufacturers. This specimen also bears a specific market mark FOR SALE IN SENEGAL<\/em>, meaning that the package was intended for the Senegalese market, most likely as an export product of Carreras Ltd.<\/p>\n

The design conveys a classic image of British luxury \u2013 the dark background, golden font and minimalist composition symbolize solidity, while the sign itself Black Cat<\/em> associated with the Carreras tobacco line, popular during the interwar period, which was famous for its quality Virginia tobacco.<\/p>\n
