Description:
This set of Winston cigarette packs represents the thematic "Decades" series, in which each pack is dedicated to a specific historical decade - from the 1950s to the 2000s. The packs are clearly marked with the periods ("50's", "60's", "70's", "80's", "90's", "00's"), and the designs are created to reflect the visual culture of each era.
The series is based on a stylistic evolution. Early packs feature retro graphics and classic motifs, middle packs reflect pop culture and technological advances, and late packs feature minimalist, contemporary designs.
The set is designed as a cohesive thematic set, with all elements interconnected and forming a coherent visual narrative. This structure distinguishes it from random or mixed sets and gives it collector's value as a fully completed example of the series.
Historical data:
„The Winston brand was launched in the US in 1954 and has since become one of the world's leading cigarette brands. In the early 21st century, stricter tobacco control laws were introduced in the European Union, which severely restricted advertising and required warnings on packaging.
Due to these limitations, manufacturers began to use alternative forms of marketing, one of which was thematic and conceptual series of packages. "Decades / Timeline" type editions were designed to convey the history of the brand and create an emotional connection with the consumer through nostalgia and period stylistics.
With the entry into force of directives on standardised packaging and graphic warnings in the European Union between 2014 and 2016, such design solutions were practically eliminated. As a result, these series are today considered transitional examples and have collector's value.
