Description:
„"Com" (COM) – a classic Bulgarian cigarette brand named after Mount Kom (Kom vruh) – one of the highest peaks of the Balkan mountain range, symbolizing strength and endurance. Manufactured by Bulgarian state tobacco monopoly (Bulgarian State Tobacco Monopoly), and specifically – Sofia Tobacco Factory, which operated during the period when Bulgarian tobacco production was also exported to Eastern Europe.
The packaging design is minimalist – red triangular mountain motif on a white background, with a clear inscription "Ком" in Cyrillic. At the top, the inscription "Цигари с филтер" means cigarettes with filter. Visible on top red Bulgarian excise sticker, and the phrase on the side Made in Bulgaria – made in Bulgaria.
This model was considered mid-range cigarettes, mostly sold for the domestic market, but currently valued by collectors as a relic of the classic Bulgarian tobacco industry.
Value assessment:
-
Collectible value: Medium-high. "KOM" is less common than the popular "BT" or "Steward", so good condition copies gain additional value.
-
Condition assessment: Excellent - original cellophane, excise sticker preserved, minimal corner dents.
-
Historical data: Production continued until the end of the 1980s, later the factory was reorganized into Bulgartabac Holding.
