Falling Rain 90 (in Thai) Thunderstorm 90, literally „falling rain“) is one of the most poetic names for Thailand’s tobacco monopoly. Created as light cigarettes variant, this model featured a fresh image and was aimed at a younger, urban audience.
The packaging design is harmonious – green and white The tones symbolize nature and freshness. The elegant frame with the logo dominates the center. FALLING RAIN 90, and the official one is marked at the bottom Thailand Tobacco Monopoly sign.
Above – the original remains excise stamp, as with other TTM products of the mid-1990s.
This model was sold in the local market as an alternative to brands such as Gold City or Summit, offering a milder smoke that was in line with the "mint fresh" trends popular during that period.
Value assessment:
– Collectible value: Medium to High - Falling Rain is less common than other TTM products. The surviving film and authentic excise tape give the pack additional value in the collector's market.
– Condition assessment: Excellent - unopened, cellophane in good condition, tax label still intact and all labels are clear.
– Historical significance: reflects the period when Thai tobacco manufacturers began to create emotional, nature-inspired brands – this was the era of TTM modernization.
