Description:
This is a classic Soviet-era edition of Klaipėda cigarettes, which already shows stabilized design language – light background, red horizontal line at the top and symbolic sailboat logo above the blue sea wave shape.
The lower part has a prominent inscription area – „"KLAIPĖDA" in white letters on a blue background, spelling in both Lithuanian and Russian (bilingual version from the USSR period).
The quality is indicated in both languages at the top:
-
in Lithuanian – „"Top quality filter cigarettes"“,
-
in Russian – „"Cigarettes of the highest quality"“.
On the side - a warning „"Smoking is dangerous to your health"“ and the name of the factory in Lithuanian and Russian.
This edition features clean, marine color – the blue color became the main identifying element of the "Klaipėda" signs, which remained in later editions.
Value assessment:
-
Collectible value: high – this blue edition is early, before the lighthouse design emerged, and is therefore highly valued by collectors.
-
Condition assessment: excellent – original cellophane, bright colors, clear text.
-
Historical significance: this the first transition of the "Klaipėda" design from a red ship to a blue symbol of the sea, which later became part of the factory's identity.
