Description:
Lambert & Butler Menthol – is a classic British tobacco industry interpretation of menthol-flavored cigarettes. This model was introduced as a lighter, fresher version of the traditional „Silver“ or „Original“ L&B.
The package design maintains the recognizable L&B style: gold background with vertical stripes, a central band with a green accent that emphasizes the menthol character, and a minimalist black L&B logo.
Remaining at the top original British excise tape with a value entry of "£1.00", corresponding to a period when L&B was one of the best-selling cigarette brands in the UK.
The inscription on the side "Fumer provoque le cancer / Rauchen verursacht Krebs" indicates that this package was intended for export to multilingual markets – possibly Switzerland, Luxembourg or Belgium.
This version is from the last pre-reform period, when menthol cigarettes were still allowed in production (until the 2020 EU ban).
Value assessment:
– Collectible value: Medium-high – Lambert & Butler Menthol has become sought after model by collectors after the menthol ban In the EU and the UK. Packets with the authentic British excise stamp are rarer than later European versions.
– Condition assessment: Excellent - unopened, cellophane clean, excise stamp clearly visible.
– Historical significance: reflects a period when L&B was one of the dominant brands in the UK tobacco market and symbolises the last products marking the menthol era.
