Description:
SAMSUN Filters – one of the classic symbols of the Turkish tobacco industry, produced by a state-owned company TEKEL, operating since 1925. This model is named Samsun In honor of the region - it is one of the most famous tobacco growing areas on the Black Sea coast.
The packaging design is typical of the Turkish style of the period – red and white color contrast, TEKEL logo in the central part with with the symbol of a tobacco leaf, surrounded by a ribbon signifying the traditional Turkish tobacco heritage.
Remaining at the top golden TEKEL seal on the excise strip, and on the sides - the inscriptions "20 Adet Sigara" (20 cigarettes).
The package has a slight patina effect - typical of older products, but the film has survived, so the collectible value does not decrease.
Value assessment:
– Collectible value: High – Tekel SAMSUN series is one of the most sought after among collectors due to its historical context and strong regional roots. This variant with the inscription Filter (filtered) is later and rarer than the unfiltered version.
– Condition assessment: Very good - original cellophane, excise sticker remaining, surface patina shows natural aging.
– Historical significance: symbolizes the days of the Tekel monopoly, when Turkey produced exclusively its own tobacco products, aimed at the local consumer, before opening up to international companies in the 1990s.
